Santtu Karhu & Talvisovat "Lähti mučoi tänä huondes"
Santtu Karhu, or Alexander Medvedev, was the first to play rock in Karelian and introduce into it folk and ethnic elements within the band’s work. Santtu Karhu founded the Talvisovat band in the autumn of 1989 with rock musicians and folk enthusiasts. In songs with Karhu lyrics, the folk Karelian instrument jouhikko was used for the first time in rock music. Karhu is a rock poet and expert on native language with a charismatic low voice.
Veri "Tulen synty"
A myth about the origin of fire. Veri is the new music of Karelian swamps.
Myllärit "Тuulen Ukko, Tuule Akka (Master of the Wind)"
Myllärit is the most famous of the Karelian folk rock bands from Petrozavodsk. Formed in 1992. Their music is based on folk melodies of Karelian, Finnish and Zaonezhie people arranged by A. Bykadorov as well as his own works.

Myllärit "Lähtin Minä Mäele"

Sattuma "Way through the forest"
Sattuma is an heir of Karelian and Finnish performing traditions. Founded 20 years ago by Myllärit members Arto Rinne and Dmitry Dyomin with their children Eila Rinne and Vladislav Dyomin.
